Installation Instructions

Connecting HDPE double-wall bellows and b and c tubes involves both mechanical connections and a series of thermal fusion procedures. The primary methods include butt fusion, electrical fusion, socket fusion, flange adapter connection, and compression connection.

1. The pipeline should be laid on an earth arc base. For general soil conditions, a 100mm layer of medium coarse sand should be placed on the undisturbed soil foundation or on a backfilled and compacted foundation beneath the pipe. In cases of poor soil quality, a sand gravel base layer of at least 200mm can be used, which can be laid in two layers: the lower layer with 5-32mm gravel, 100-150mm thick, and the upper layer with coarse sand, no less than 50mm thick. The base density must meet the requirements of Table 2. For soft soil foundations where the bearing capacity is below design requirements, or where construction precipitation has disturbed the original soil, strengthening of the foundation is necessary. Once the specified bearing capacity is achieved, a medium coarse sand foundation layer can be laid.

2. The axillary corner within the supporting angle of the designed earth arc foundation for the pipeline must be backfilled with medium coarse sand or gravel soil. The backfilling range should exceed the supporting angle 2α by at least 30 degrees, and the backfilling compactness must comply with technical regulations.

3. For socket interfaces and sleeve connections in the pipeline foundation, grooves should be dug while laying the pipeline. The dimensions of the groove—length, width, and depth—should be determined according to the size of the pipe joint. Once the joint is completed, the groove must be backfilled with medium coarse sand immediately.

4. In sections where longitudinal uneven settlement of the pipeline may occur due to factors like pipeline load and soil changes, the foundation should be reinforced before laying the pipeline.
For the foundation treatment of polyethylene drainage pipes, composite methods such as sand piles and stone piles should be used. Rigid foundation methods like driven piles, concrete pads, and concrete strip foundations should be avoided.
