Installation Instructions

The connection techniques for HDPE double-wall bellows with types b and c tubes encompass mechanical connections and an array of thermal fusion procedures. The primary methods include butt fusion, electrofusion, socket fusion, flange adapter connection, and compression connection.

1. The pipeline should be positioned on an arched earth base. For typical soil conditions, a 100mm layer of medium coarse sand should be laid on the undisturbed soil foundation or the compacted backfill foundation beneath the pipe. In cases of poor soil quality, a base layer of sand and gravel no less than 200mm in thickness can be utilized. This can be laid in two layers: the lower layer consisting of gravel with a particle size of 5-32mm and a thickness of 100-150mm, and the upper layer of coarse sand no less than 50mm thick. The base density must adhere to the specifications outlined in Table 2. For soft soil foundations, if the foundation's bearing capacity is below design requirements or compromised due to factors like construction dewatering, the foundation must first be reinforced to meet specified bearing capacity before laying the medium coarse sand foundation layer.

2. The axillary corner within the supporting angle range of the pipeline's designed earth arc foundation must be backfilled with medium coarse sand or gravel soil. The backfilling area should extend beyond the supporting angle 2α by at least 30 degrees, and the backfilling compactness should comply with technical regulations.

3. Grooves for the socket interface and sleeve connection within the pipeline foundation should be excavated concurrently with the pipeline laying process. The dimensions of these grooves—length, width, and depth—should correspond to the pipe joint size. Once the joint is completed, the grooves should be immediately backfilled with medium coarse sand to the required density.

4. In sections where longitudinal uneven settlement of the pipeline is a concern due to pipeline load or ground soil changes, the foundation should be reinforced prior to pipeline installation.
For the foundation treatment of polyethylene drainage pipes, composite foundation treatment methods like sand piles and stone piles should be employed. Rigid foundation treatment methods such as driven piles, concrete pads, and concrete strip foundations are not recommended.
