Installation Instructions

 

The connection methods for HDPE double-wall bellows, including b and c tubes, encompass both mechanical connections and a variety of thermal fusion techniques. The principal methods are butt fusion, electrofusion, socket fusion, flange adapter connections, and compression connections.

1. The pipeline should rest on an earth arc. For typical soil conditions, a 100mm thick layer of medium-coarse sand should be laid on the undisturbed soil foundation or a compacted backfilled foundation below the pipe. For poor foundation soil quality, a sand-gravel base layer of at least 200mm thick may be used, laid in two layers: the lower layer consisting of gravel with a particle size of 5~32mm and a thickness of 100~150mm, and the upper layer of coarse sand at least 50mm thick. The base density must comply with the requirements of Table 2. For soft soil foundations, if the bearing capacity is below design specifications or is disturbed due to construction precipitation or other factors, the foundation must be reinforced. After achieving the specified bearing capacity, a medium-coarse sand foundation layer should be laid.

2. The axillary corners within the support angle range of the designed earth arc foundation must be backfilled with medium-coarse sand or gravel soil. The backfilled area should exceed the support angle 2α by at least 30 degrees, and the compactness of the backfill should comply with technical regulations.
 

 

3. Grooves for socket interfaces and sleeve connections in the pipeline foundation should be excavated during pipe laying. The dimensions of the groove (length, width, and depth) should match the pipe joint size. Once the joint is complete, immediately backfill with medium-coarse sand to ensure proper density.

4. For sections where longitudinal uneven settlement may occur due to factors such as pipeline load and soil changes, the foundation should be reinforced before pipeline installation.
For foundation treatment of polyethylene drainage pipes, use composite methods like sand piles and stone piles. Avoid rigid foundation treatments such as driven piles, concrete pads, and concrete strip foundations.
