Installation Instructions
 

The connection methods for HDPE double-wall bellows and b and c tubes include both mechanical connections and various thermal fusion techniques. Primary methods include butt fusion, electrical fusion, socket fusion, flange adapter connection, and compression connection.

1. The pipeline foundation should be prepared on a stable earth arc. For typical soil conditions, a 100mm thick layer of medium coarse sand should be laid on the undisturbed or compacted soil foundation below the pipe. For poor soil quality, use a sand and gravel base layer with a minimum thickness of 200mm. This can be laid in two layers: the lower layer consisting of 100-150mm thick gravel with a particle size of 5-32mm, and the upper layer of coarse sand with a minimum thickness of 50mm. The base density must meet the specifications outlined in Table 2. If dealing with soft soil foundations where the bearing capacity is below design requirements or has been compromised due to construction activities or precipitation, the foundation must be strengthened first. Once the required bearing capacity is achieved, the medium coarse sand foundation layer can be placed.

2. The axillary corners within the support angle range of the designed earth arc foundation must be backfilled with medium coarse sand or gravel soil. The backfilling range should be at least the support angle 2α plus 30°, and the compactness of the backfill must adhere to technical regulations.

3. During the pipeline foundation preparation, grooves for the socket interface and sleeve connection should be dug simultaneously with the pipeline laying. The dimensions of these grooves (length, width, and depth) should be determined based on the pipe joint size. Upon joint completion, backfill with medium coarse sand immediately to ensure density.

4. In sections where longitudinal uneven settlement of the pipeline might occur due to pipeline load or soil changes, the foundation should be reinforced before laying the pipeline.
For the foundation treatment of polyethylene drainage pipes, adopt composite methods such as sand pile or stone pile. Avoid rigid foundation treatments like driven piles, concrete pads, or concrete strip foundations.
