Installation Instructions

 

The connection methods for HDPE double-wall bellows and types B and C tubes encompass both mechanical and a range of thermal fusion techniques. The primary methods include butt fusion, electrofusion, socket fusion, flange adapter connections, and compression connections.

1. The pipeline should be installed on a natural earth arc. For standard soil, a 100mm thick layer of medium coarse sand should be placed on either the undisturbed soil foundation or a compacted backfill foundation beneath the pipe. If the soil quality is poor, a sand gravel base layer of at least 200mm thickness is recommended, which can be laid in two layers: a lower layer of gravel (5~32mm particle size) with a thickness of 100~150mm, and an upper layer of coarse sand with a minimum thickness of 50mm. The base density should comply with Table 2 specifications. For soft soil foundations where bearing capacity is below design requirements or disturbed due to construction, the foundation must be strengthened to meet required bearing capacity before laying the medium coarse sand foundation.

2. The supporting angle of the designed earth arc foundation around the pipeline's axillary corner must be backfilled with medium coarse sand or gravel soil. The backfill range should be at least the supporting angle 2α plus 30, with backfill compactness adhering to technical regulations.
 

 

3. Grooves for the socket and sleeve connections in the pipeline foundation should be dug concurrently with pipeline laying. Groove dimensions (length, width, and depth) should be determined based on the pipe joint size. After joint completion, immediately backfill to the required density with medium coarse sand.

4. For sections where longitudinal uneven settlement of the pipeline might occur due to factors such as pipeline load and soil changes, the foundation should be reinforced prior to laying the pipeline.
For the foundation treatment of polyethylene drainage pipes, composite methods like sand or stone piles should be employed. Avoid using rigid foundation treatments such as driven piles, concrete pads, or concrete strip foundations.
