Installation Instructions
 

The connection methods for HDPE double-wall bellows, including b and c tubes, encompass both mechanical connections and a sequence of thermal fusion procedures. The primary techniques include butt fusion, electrofusion, socket fusion, flange adapter connection, and compression connection.

1. The pipeline should rest on an earth arc base. For general soil conditions, a 100mm layer of medium coarse sand should be laid on either undisturbed soil or a compacted backfill foundation below the pipe. For poor soil conditions, a gravel base layer of at least 200mm thickness can be used, which may be laid in two layers: the lower layer consisting of gravel with a particle size of 5~32mm and a thickness of 100~150mm, and the upper layer of coarse sand with a thickness of no less than 50mm. The base density must comply with the standards outlined in Table 2. For soft soil foundations, if the bearing capacity is below design requirements or disturbed due to construction activities, the foundation must be strengthened until the required bearing capacity is achieved, after which a medium coarse sand foundation layer can be laid.

2. The axillary corner within the supporting angle range of the designed earth arc foundation for the pipeline must be backfilled with medium coarse sand or gravel soil. The backfilling range should be no less than the supporting angle 2α plus 30, and the compactness of the backfilling must adhere to technical regulations.

3. Grooves at the socket interface and sleeve connection in the pipeline foundation should be dug concurrently with the pipeline laying. The dimensions of the groove-length, width, and depth-should match the pipe joint size. Once the joint is in place, the groove should be immediately backfilled and compacted with medium coarse sand.

4. For sections where longitudinal uneven settlement of the pipeline is possible due to pipeline load or ground soil changes, the foundation should be reinforced prior to laying the pipeline.
For foundation treatment of polyethylene drainage pipes, composite methods such as sand piles and stone piles should be employed. Rigid foundation treatment measures like driven piles, concrete pads, and concrete strip foundations should be avoided.
