Installation Instructions

 

The connection modes for the HDPE double-wall bellows, B tubes, and C tubes offered by Wilvida include both mechanical connections and a series of thermal fusion procedures. The primary methods encompass butt fusion, electrofusion, socket fusion, flange adapter connection, and compression connection. Each method ensures a secure and reliable bond, catering to diverse installation needs.

1. The pipeline should be laid on a base of undisturbed soil and supported by an earth arc. For general soil conditions, a medium coarse sand layer, 100mm thick, should be placed on the foundation. If the soil quality is poor, opt for a sand-gravel base layer at least 200mm thick. This layer can be divided into two: the lower layer of gravel (5-32mm particle size) should be 100-150mm thick, and the upper layer of coarse sand should be no less than 50mm thick. The base density must meet the specifications in Table 2. For soft soil foundations, if the bearing capacity is insufficient, the foundation must be reinforced and leveled with medium coarse sand once the desired bearing capacity is achieved.

2. The axillary corner within the supporting angle of the designed earth arc foundation must be backfilled with medium coarse sand or gravel soil. The backfilling range should extend at least 30 degrees beyond the supporting angle 2α, ensuring compactness as per technical regulations for optimal stability.
 

 

3. Grooves for the socket interface and sleeve connection should be dug concurrently with the pipeline laying. The dimensions of these grooves (length, width, and depth) should match the pipe joint size. Upon joint completion, backfill the area with medium coarse sand immediately to maintain the installation's integrity.

4. In sections where longitudinal uneven settlement might occur due to pipeline load or ground soil changes, reinforce the foundation before pipeline installation to prevent future issues.
For the foundation treatment of polyethylene drainage pipes, adopt composite methods like sand piles or stone piles. Avoid rigid foundation treatments such as driven piles, concrete pads, or concrete strip foundations to maintain the flexibility and integrity of the pipeline system.
