The connection techniques for HDPE double-wall bellows and b and c tubes are multi-faceted, offering both mechanical connections and an array of sophisticated thermal fusion processes. Key techniques include the precision of butt fusion, the innovation of electrical fusion, the simplicity of socket fusion, the robustness of flange adapter connection, and the reliability of compression connection.
1. The pipeline should rest on an earth arc foundation. For typical soil conditions, a bed of medium-coarse sand, 100mm thick, is recommended atop the untouched soil foundation or on a compacted backfilled base beneath the pipe. For weaker soil, a gravel and sand layer of at least 200mm may be used, divided into two layers: a lower layer of gravel (5~32mm particles, 100~150mm thick) topped with a layer of coarse sand no less than 50mm thick. The base density must meet the criteria in Table 2. In cases of soft soil where bearing capacity falls short of design requirements or issues arise from construction activities, the foundation must first be fortified. Once the required bearing capacity is achieved, lay the medium-coarse sand foundation layer.
2. Within the support angle range of the designed earth arc foundation, the axillary corners must be filled with medium-coarse sand or gravel soil. This backfilling should extend beyond the support angle 2α by 30, ensuring compaction consistency as stipulated by technical regulations.
3. As the pipeline is laid, the grooves for socket interfaces and sleeve connections should be concurrently excavated. The dimensions—length, width, and depth—of these grooves are determined by the pipe joint size. Post-joint completion, backfill the grooves immediately with medium-coarse sand to the necessary density.
4. For pipeline sections susceptible to longitudinal uneven settlement due to load variations or ground soil changes, it is crucial to reinforce the foundation prior to laying the pipeline. This preemptive strengthening ensures durability and stability of the installation.
When treating the foundation of polyethylene drainage pipes, employ composite methods like sand or stone piles. Avoid rigid methods such as driven piles, concrete pads, or strip foundations to maintain flexibility and integrity.
